HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

CPR is the training accreditation suitable for people who require to provide CPR in a range of situations.

This 2-hour course is designed to ensure that participants gain the skills and knowledge to apply basic first aid and how to perform CPR.

Our CPR training program is appropriate to all those working in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings and is made up of the following nationally accredited unit of competency:

  • HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Course Details

Our CPR course focuses on ensuring that students have the knowledge and the confidence required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an unconscious casualty.

The course is taught to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Key areas covered by this course include:

  • Recognise an emergency situation
  • Identify, assess, and minimise immediate hazards to health and safety of self and others
  • Assess the casualty and recognise the need for CPR
  • Seek assistance from emergency response services
  • Perform CPR
  • Display respectful behaviour towards casualty

For students who are refreshing their knowledge and skills, we recommend completing the CPR Refresher program (which is a 1.5-hour program).

Training will be conducted by one of our experienced trainer assessors who have industry currency, strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.

Practical and theoretical activities drive the training experience to ensure that the training is engaging, interesting and relevant.

To complete the course, students must successfully complete all assessments which are aligned with the national unit of competency.

All assessments are completed during the course – no assessment activities need to be completed prior to or post the training course.

Upon successful completion of the course requirements, students will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the following unit of competency:

  • HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
